Power Up 2011: Day 2 & Final Day

Day 2:

Got woken up when Carl went into the shower….I was pretty damn tired so I decided to lie around for a bit longer since I had to wait for the shower anyways. I think David “Detrimantix” actually got up before Carl’s and brought me some food for breakfast, but I am not a fan of muffin so I didn’t touch any of them (sorry David L). Anyways, my turn to shower, and by the time I was out of the shower Amanda was already in our room to pick us up to the venue.

We arrived @ the venue and they were already calling my name to begin my first match before I could take a look at my pool. I saw Justin already playing his match, and he looked and me and said “We’re best friends, let’s be gay”. Right from that sentence I already knew we were put into the same pool and I was not surprised and expected. I mean we’ve been playing each other since SBO, if we were separated THEN I would be shocked. *If any bracket organizers are reading this, I REALLY REALLY want to know that if you guys put us together in every tournament ON PURPOSE or is it some kind of coincidence?*

Back to my diary…..so yah..won my matches all the way to winners final, and OF COURSE I have to fight my gay mate “Mr.Wong”. I got thrown during our matches so many times….I guess my tech throw timing was off or Wong’s throw timing was unique @_@. I lost to J.Wong and got put into losers and had to face Jabailey to fight out of the pool. I was actually the one who put Jabailey into losers so I didn’t have much trouble beating him the second time. I made it out of my pool as a loser and Top 8 continues the next day.

After the SSF4 tournament and it wasn’t time for David’s Mvc3 pool to start yet, Amanda then decided to bring us to this Mexican restaurant for lunch! The food was awesome but the portion was a little too big for me, therefore I only ate half. Oh by the way, a lot of people gave me weird stares at the restaurant…I guess it’s rare to see Asian in Ohio or something, lol.

We head back to the venue after our meal and I forgot what I did there…I remember I was playing casuals at the arcade cabinet (SSF4 , not AE) for over 2 hours + I believe. I had a lot of fun, thank you everybody. After that I believe I watched some of the streamed matches of Mvc3 and Mk9 then I went to get some food and drinks then I returned to my hotel room and passed out.

Final Day:

Totally missed my alarm…so did David @@. By the time we got up it was 11ish and believed that MK9 would be the first game to start and David checked the Power Up website just to confirm the time that they start the Top 8 for each game. It was written 3 P.M for SSF4 and Mvc3 is supposed to be after SSF4 therefore we took our time to shower/dress up. When it was around 1pm David just started to get in the shower and I said to him, dude I have this bad feeling and I think I want to head off first. So I went to the venue ahead of David and when I got there…SSF4 was about to start as the first game of the day, lucky I made it in time, whew!

My first match was against TS Min (E.Honda and M.Bison), beat him without much problem, then I had to face PR Rog as my next opponent. I did pretty well against him the first set until the last round where I didn’t mash SRK on Balrog’s Ultra 1 string when I was blocking. I usually can time that shit and I didn’t want to mash like a scrub…..but yet I failed @@...should have mashed….I regret -_-. Second set he totally destroyed me..oh well….at least I think I did well or probably able to beat him if I won the first set since the momentum would be on my side, but yah..I got eliminated and placed 5^th at this tournament (Still got paid!).

I watched through the whole SSF4 and congratz to Wolfkrone. Right after SSF4 it was Mvc3 and I was ready to support my team mate “CCG Detrimantix”, but he got destroyed in the first set L. I think he was too nervous though; however he won his second set and unluckily lost his last set and ended up placing 7^th at the Mvc3 (Congratz).

We stayed and watch the whole tournament including MK9 (it was hype and this game looks really fun, I hope I have time to pick up this game) and Carl was so close to win the tournament, boooo. Anyways, Amanda then took us to this awesome fast food place called “SONIC” and the food was really good especially the drink called “Ocean Water” plus the really hot server!!

After some great food we head back to the venue for some casuals and kind of chilled there for a bit until the venue closes then we returned to our hotel and get ready to head back home the next morning ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Shin Final Day:

Going to keep this short…..so Amanda took me, David, Ultra David and J.Wong to the airport and we during half way of the road trip we dropped by at this fast food restaurant called “White Castle” if I didn’t remember wrong…….lol. They served some really mini burgers but it was so tasty that I couldn’t believe myself that such simple burger can be this tasty.

Finally arrived at the airport, us 3 were in the same terminal except J.Wong and once again Amanda, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!! Hope to see you soon again.
